Dear IIB students
All of you are studying a business qualification, for example, BSB50125 Diploma of Business or BSB60215 Advanced Diploma of Business.
In Australia, the rules about what you must study in each qualification comes from a Training Package. A Training Package is a set of rules about the skills and knowledge you must achieve for each qualification and for each unit of competency inside each qualification. The qualification you are studying comes from the BSB Training Package.
In October 2020, an updated version of the BSB Training Package (Version 7.0) was released. The Australian Government has updated the BSB Training Package so that people entering the workforce with a business qualification have the skills that better meet today’s business world.
All IIB’s business courses have been updated. The old qualification is called the ‘Superseded’ qualification and the new qualification is called the ‘Current’ qualification. If the current qualification has the same rules as the old qualification, it is ‘equivalent’. If the current qualification does not follow the same rules as the old qualification, it is ‘Not Equivalent’.
Superseded Qualification | Current Qualification | Equivalent? |
BSB50215 Diploma of Business | BSB50120 Diploma of Business | NO |
BSB60215 Advanced Diploma of Business | BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business | NO |
What do these changes mean for me?
If you are studying BSB50820 Diploma of Project Management, these changes do not affect you.
If you are studying the superseded BSB50215 – Diploma of Business or BSB60215 Advanced Diploma of Business, then your program will remain the same syllabus till you complete the entire 8 units and/or fulfill 1 year study duration. Nevertheless, the last intake for both courses will be 3 May 2021 and these two superseded courses will be completely retired on 10 April 2022; after that, we will not offer any new training and assessment for both BSB50215 Diploma of Business and BSB60215 Advanced Diploma of Business after the retired date.
What do I need to do?
You need not to notify us and make any change/s unless you wish to switch from your current studying superseded BSB50215 Diploma of Business or BSB60215 Advanced Diploma of Business to our latest/current qualifications. Besides the training package, course duration and fee are varied, you may still probably enjoy several units as credit transfer if you have completed and scored competence for:
