The support services have been tailored to meet individual needs of students and provide prompt response to address a wide array of difficulties a student may face, thus ensuring student friendly approach to make their stay with IIB most enjoyable. Student Support Services

The student services at IIB will include the followings (under some circumstances, student may be referred to external service providers):

1. Student counselling;
2. Learning support services
3. Academic and course monitoring
4. Employment services
5. Legal services;
6. Student welfare;

8. Complaints and appeal process

Orientation Program

IIB will provide an age and culturally sensitive orientation program for every student at the beginning of each course. The programmes will be structured in accordance with the student coherent. The students will be given support information to assist them in completing their studies with IIB and their rights and obligations.  This program will be appropriate and thorough and allow access to students, including late arrivals and students who begin at different entry points. The orientation program will be reviewed regularly to ensure students are receiving current and accurate information.

Documentation and information to be provided at the orientation includes:

1. Emergency and Health Facilities
2. Legal Services
3. Study support and welfare related services
4. Security measures
5. Ban on littering, spitting and urinating in public places
6. IIB fees and fee refund
7. Recognition of prior learning / credit transfer
8. Communication (e.g. internet and mobile phones)
9. Complaints and appeals process
10. Student code of behaviour
11. Course progress requirements
12. Keeping address and contact details up-to-date
13. Student handbook
14. IIB staff and contact details
15. LLN support
16. Assessment of competencies procedure
17. Student behaviour procedure
18. Check enrolment status and made any necessary amendments to information
19. Plagirism policy
20. Familiarisation with the key support services of the IIB

Referral To External Services

At times, it may be required to refer students to external support services to deal with their specific problems or situations. Staff engaged in the student support services will ensure that the students are referred to appropriate organisations and services.

Student support services staff can assist personally and provide with information on many issues such as:

1. Accommodation including student’s rights and responsibilities as a tenant
2. Legal issues
3. Going to court
4. Resume preparation
5. Appointments for counselling and welfare services
6. Personal problem e.g. homesick, loneliness, harassment, bullying

These services will be provided at no additional cost to the student. If IIB refers the student to external support services, IIB will not charge for the referral.

IIB may also invite specialised people from the industry, legal aid etc, for the benefit of it’s students
