This Nationally Recognised qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have supervisory performance accountabilities.

Individuals in these roles carry out a mix of specialist and moderately complex administrative or operational tasks that require self-development skills. They use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems and analyse information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.

Admission requirements

Applicants must

  • be at least 18 years of age at the time of course commencement.
  • have at least completed the equivalent of Year 10 at the time of course commencement.
  • provide evidence of English entry requirements (IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL IBT 65-78 or PTE Academic 52-58) or if unavailable, be subjected to undertake the IIB's VET English Placement Assessment (achieving Upper-Intermediate Level).
  • provide academic certificates and/ or, transcripts of the highest level of education attained (if any) and/ or have work experience in the business-related field.

    *Note: During the orientation session, you will be required to complete the Learner, Literacy, Numeracy, and Learner's Needs Assessment

    PROGRAM DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT METHODS

    The course program is scheduled to be delivered over a 78-week timeframe of full-time study consisting of 60 weeks of scheduled class time plus 18 weeks of breaks.

  • Classes are scheduled at 20 hours per week (15 hours face-to-face + 5 hours online learning).
  • The course is divided into 6 terms.
  • Classes are delivered over 2 days at 7.5 hours per day plus 5 hours of online learning per week.
  • Holiday periods are 3 weeks in duration for every term-break throughout the year.
  • Students are also provided with learning resources, usually in the form of learner manuals. These provided the core of each unit’s content which is explored during training hours. Students have at their disposal a computer lab with the necessary resources and computer equipment to create presentations, repeat and reinforce topics taught in classrooms or research topics using online sources. Students may also be referred to additional materials available in the student library. Such resources may be used as additional materials for study during students’ own time. Learning materials are accessed via the College’s Moodle platform to which each student and trainer has access. Classrooms are equipped with laptops and presentation screens to provide for presentations by trainers or students. The classes emphasise on reflecting genuine workplace scenarios. Role-plays, demonstrations, and case studies are particularly important in this regard. These assessment tools consist of the following components (components may vary from unit to unit):
